Description
Tsavo East and Tsavo West national park are the two national parks that form the great Tsavo National park located in Coast Province of Kenya. The two are separated by a highway that connects Nairobi to Mombasa.
Tsavo East national park, also labelled “Theatre of the Wild”. Famous with its large herds of the red-dusted Elephants which you’ll find rolling on the red dusty soil. The sight of dust-red elephant is the first thing to encounter as these playful giants spray themselves with the dust. Some of the key features of this park include African big five (lions, leopards, Elephants, Buffalo and Rhinos) and other big game including crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks, lesser kudu, wildebeests, gerenuk, zebras, giraffes and many more.
Tsavo West national park, also known as “Land of Lava, springs, Man-eaters and Magical Sunsets”. The park is more scenic than Tsavo East national park with unique attractions such as the Mazima springs and the Shetani lava flows. Tsavo West national park is also wetter than Tsavo East national park and home to all African big game more so the big five which include lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, leopards and other big game, the likes of giraffes, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, gerenuk, lesser kudu, waterbucks, wildebeests and others.
