Day 1 Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park

Your driver/guide will pick you up early from your Mombasa beach resort or hotel for your African safari trip.

We’ll head out on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, also known as the Early Explorer’s route to Tsavo East National Park.

The early morning drive to the park is scenic and we’ll pause when we arrive at the entrance for refreshments.

Before us is the beautiful and rugged expanse of Tsavo East, the largest park in Kenya. Famous for its lions and elephants, we’ll head out in our 4 x 4 in search of the wild game.

We’ll enjoy a lunch break at and perhaps a bit of relaxing time, allowing the mid-day heat to dissipate before taking an afternoon game drive.

The cooling plains will entice the wildlife back into the open, especially at the park’s watering holes where they gather in great numbers, drawn to the precious water.

As we wind up our first safari day, we may be blessed with a vivid African sunset, lighting our way, after which we will return to our Tsavo East tented safari camp/ safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Tsavo East National Park – Tsavo West

We’ll be up with the first bird song, to enjoy the sunrise and an early morning game drive. This is a peaceful and special time of first light when the park and savannah come alive. We’ll look for the wildlife as it ventures forth from the protection of the night.

Of special note are the birds – over 500 species are found here including the lovebird and sacred ibis.

We’ll have breakfast and one more game drive as we exit the park on our way to Tsavo West.

It’s a short drive to this park of rolling hills, lava beds, and broad savannahs. All of Africa’s Big Five are here and we’ll be on the lookout for them, plus giraffe, hartebeest and impala.

The rarest of the big game is the endangered rhino but here at Tsavo West, there’s a special rhino sanctuary, created to protect over 80 of these large and elusive beasts. We’ll visit here and track the rhino, so have your camera ready.

We’ll spend our second safari night at Tsavo West at your choice of lodge or tented camp.

Day 3 Tsavo West – Amboseli

Rising before the dawn we’ll enjoy the first stirrings of birds and beasts as the dawn breaks across the plains.

It’s a perfect time for an early game drive and we’ll head out in our 4 x 4 to see what and who the dawn brings us.

Next is a visit Mzima Springs, one of the parks’ surprises, with its lush, green foliage, and crystal waters. Here we’ll find hippo, crocodile, fish, and birds, all flourishing in this rich habitat. Also drawn to these life-giving waters are zebra, elephant and many other inhabitants of this reserve.

We’ll leave Tsavo West for the short drive to Amboseli National Park. Just look for stately Mt. Kilimanjaro to guide us there. Africa’s tallest mountain lies south of the park, creating endless postcard vistas.

At all times Amboseli is a gift to photographers but even more so at evening when the cloud covering the snowy peak often gives way to a wonderous view of the iconic massif.

We’ll spend the night at our Amboseli safari lodge or tented safari camp.

Day 4 Amboseli – Lake Naivasha

Today after breakfast and game drive en-route, our Kenya safari tour will see us proceed to the Lake Naivasha at the floors of the Great Rift Valley where plenty of adventure awaits.

We’re on our way to Lake Naivasha and will arrive in time for a fun adventure safari at Hell’s Gate.

We’ll take an afternoon drive to Hell’s Gate National Park for a game drive. Here is the only place one can walk inside the park as there are no predators. You will decide if you’ll do the game drive with the safari vehicle or hire a bicycle to cycle the 11 kms down towards the gorge. At the gorge you will get a guide who will direct you and share information about the rock layers.

This is a place of dramatic cliffs, hot springs, geysers and steaming vents here are dramatic proof of the geothermal activity below ground. But we’ll be gliding along on bicycles past impala, gazelle, zebra, giraffe and baboon. A fitting and joyful way to end a busy day of animal watching.

We’ll spend the evening at Lake Naivasha at your safari lodge or tented safari camp.

Day 5 Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru

We have a lot to see and experience today, so let’s be up and bid goodbye to Lake Naivasha as we head out to a short 2 hours’ drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Birdlife abounds with flamingoes seen in their thousands together with pelicans and other bird species. Due to some progressive natural factors like increasing water levels, the flamingo numbers have been reducing but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest.

The Lake Nakuru National Park is home to the black and white rhino species, warthogs, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffe and many more.

Besides the flamingos and rhinoceros with amazing raised ridges the park offers amazing viewpoints for birding, game viewing and sightseeing, explore these viewpoints for unmatchable scenic photography backgrounds among other things. Looking for a true Kenya photo safari experience? Lake Nakuru is one of that place to be.

You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lakeshore. Overnight at your Lake Nakuru safari lodge / tented safari camp.

Day 6 Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara

We will depart early after breakfast from Lake Nakuru to maximize our time at our next and Kenya safari destination, Masai Mara National Reserve. This is one of the top African photographic safari destinations with excellent game viewing all year round.

At an advised time after breakfast, proceed to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, one of the top African safari tours especially good with first time safari goers in Africa.

Arrive Masai Mara and proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive in search of African big five among other resident mammals.

Dinner and overnight at your Masai Mara safari lodge or tented safari camp.

Day 7 Maasai Mara Game Reserve Full Day

Today will start much the same as others. With a second full day of game drives, lets fire up the 4 x 4 and let’s see how much more of the land and the wildlife we can soak up.

We offer several optional activities to enhance your safari experience. Learn more about the local lifestyle and culture with a visit to the nearby Maasai tribespeople. Meet the villagers, see their homes and perhaps pick up a colourful beaded souvenir.

Experience the land in a dramatic new fashion, with an early morning hot air balloon excursion over the park. You’ll see the parade of wildlife from above as the early light paints its colours upon the reserve – unforgettable! Your driver/guide will be happy to make all the arrangements.

Dinner and overnight at your Masai Mara safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

Day 8 Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Wrapping up your African safari package today is a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.

Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way.
