Description
Situated in Kajaido District in the Southern part of Kenya, the park is distinctive with excellent year-round sightings and enviable landscapes. The backdrop of the scenic Mount Kilimanjaro of Tanzania makes it one of Kenya’s most attractive areas for safari exploration.
Amboseli National Park is also referred to as the home of the African giant due to its great numbers when it comes to elephants (an estimate of over 1,000) although lions, leopards and cheetahs hunt here, whereas buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, dik-dik,kobs, hyenas, and gazelles among others can be sighted.
The collective groups of habitats create an abundance of scenic landscapes comprised of swamps, dry lake beds, marshland, thick thorn bush and acacia forest, fed by springs from the mountain’s ice caps in the middle of the park. The springs provides a continuous water supply explaining the famous diversity of wildlife and birdlife that can be experienced. This is a safari destination with an array and abundance of wildlife to experience.
