Day 1 Travel to Amboseli National Park

Your African safari excursion begins at 7:30AM with a pickup at your Nairobi hotel/ Nairobi airport as we proceed on a scenic 4 hours’ drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park in Kenya’s southern part.

We should arrive at Amboseli in the late morning with plenty of time to freshen up and enjoy lunch at your accommodation.

Then we’re off in our African safari vehicle to track wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelle, and lion. We won’t need to track elephants as the park always offers ample herds for our viewing enjoyment.

With Kilimanjaro standing watch over the reserve like a giant picture postcard you’ll love taking photos in this busy and scenic park.

Witness the thrilling habitat made of swampy springs, dry and dusty earth trampled by hundreds of species. Upon your return, hot dinner will be served followed by an overnight stay at your Amboseli tented safari camp/ safari lodge.

Day 2 Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

Our day 2 of your African wildlife safari will start off with a shorter morning game drive at Amboseli, starting with the early rising sunlight breaking over the park and perhaps some elephants on their way to breakfast.

We’ll also have our breakfast at our Amboseli accommodation and then set out for this drive through the park, catching last glimpses of the wildlife and the mighty mountain.

Now, we’re on our way traveling over the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley. Traveling to Lake Naivasha, we’ll stop in Nairobi at a noted restaurant to enjoy lunch.

We’ll proceed on our journey, reaching Lake Naivasha in the late afternoon – we may take a fun boat safari across the pretty lake, sailing by hippos, fish and taking in cormorant, pelican and perhaps see zebra and antelope grazing over on the shore. Lake Naivasha is adventurous, with plenty of life and fun activities. We’ll spend the night at the Lake Naivasha safari lodge or tented safari camp of your choice.

Day 3 Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara

Day 3 of our African safari trip will see us rise with the sun for a game drive or boating safari over the lake. There’s so much to do in the Lake Naivasha area. We’ll take a guided walking safari to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Acre for acre this park has more animals than any other Kenyan safari park and we’ll stroll by as they peacefully graze.

We also offer an optional bicycle ride over to Hell’s Gate National Park for more hiking close to the wildlife. Just ask your driver/guide to set this up.

But now it’s time to set out for the most famous wildlife park in the world – Masai Mara National Reserve.

We’ll arrive in time for a game drive and get our first taste of the sweep, the beauty and the active wildlife inhabiting this famous park.

All of Africa’s Big Five are here, and sightings of lion and cheetah are common. Africa animals. Return to your Masai Mara tented safari camp/ safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Full Day Masai Mara Game Reserve

Today we will start our African tour shortly before sunrise, the goal being to maximize our game viewing opportunities.

So, we’ll be up early to track that wildlife over hills and savannahs, looking for the big predators but also some of the other 90 species of mammals filling this exciting ecosystem including the Masai Mara birdlife.

The reserve is also home to the Kenya Great Migration safari (July – October), when hordes of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra by the tens of thousands cross over the Mara River into the park on their yearly quest for taller, fresher grasses on which to feed.

We’ll take a picnic lunch at the Mara River, within sight of hippos and crocodiles, and if during the migration season, splendid views of the invading herds crossing into the park, in a sight unmatched anywhere.

We also offer a pre-dawn hot air balloon safari over the park. This is a not-to-be-missed moment on your tour – imagine viewing the Mara come alive with the new day as the wildlife emerges onto the savannah. Your driver/guide can make all the arrangements.

Masai Mara is a safari destination well known to provide the best photographic safari in Africa giving visitors a good safari experience year in year out. Return to your Masai Mara tented safari camp/ safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Masai Mara - Nairobi

Wrapping up your African safari package today is a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi. Keep your eyes peeled as we exit the park with minimal opportunities to spot some of the wildlife.

Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way. We’ll depart Masai Mara with a hot lunch stop along the way, arriving in Nairobi during late afternoon hours (approximately 15:00Hrs, typically 3:00 Pm) and bring you to your Nairobi hotel, or the Nairobi airport, signaling the end of our African safari trip.
