Best of Amboseli, Lake Naivasha & Maasai Mara

Today our approximate 4 hours journey kicks off at 7:30 AM with a pickup at your Nairobi hotel/ Nairobi airport as we prepare to start off our Kenya safari trip to the home of giants – the famous Amboseli National Park.

We should arrive at Amboseli National Park in the late morning with plenty of time to freshen up and enjoy lunch at your Amboseli accommodation before our afternoon safari activity.

Game viewing is phenomenal in Amboseli and we will ensure that one of our main focusses will be to spend as much time as possible tracking these wildlife from wildebeests, zebra, buffalo, lions, hyenas and many more. We won’t need to track elephants as the park always offers plenty herds for our viewing enjoyment.

After sunset we’ll return to our tented safari camp/ safari lodge where we will be met by a sumptuous dinner then overnight, signaling the end of your first day on this African trip.

The early morning rise is a very special time for a game drive. You’ll see the park come alive with the first stirrings of wildlife as the gentle early light plays upon the trees and plains.

We’ll have breakfast and then we’re off in park for our game drive looking for lion, cheetah and smaller game like hyena, fox, baboon, and monkey.

Amboseli National Park enjoys a rich number of birdlife as well – crake, egret, heron, falcon, and eagle have all been spotted at the park’s marshes and lakes.

We can also spot these Kenya wildlife from the lookout vantage of Observation Hill where we may see buffalo, hippo, pelican and still more avian life below.

As evening approaches, look to Mt. Kilimanjaro as its snowy peak may appear through the breaking clouds, one of the best highlights on this Kenya safari package. Dinner and overnight will be spent at your Amboseli safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

The day starts off with an early morning final game drive and bid farewell to our many elephant friends as we leave the park and journey through the Great Rift Valley. Seeing this exciting landscape with its dramatic escarpment will inspire us to stop and enjoy the views, we watch the sunlight breaking over the park and perhaps some elephants on their way.

Now, we’re on our way traveling over the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley. We should arrive at freshwater Lake Naivasha in time for lunch.

Then it’s time for a bicycle safari (or hiking if you prefer) to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park to explore its imposing cliffs and canyons. We’ll be biking (or hiking) past the park’s impala, eland, gazelle, and buffalo.

Dinner and overnight will be spent at your Lake Naivasha safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

Today let’s rise with the sun for an early boating safari over the lake with the morning sun breaking upon the lake as we float by awakening hippos and exotic birds.

There’s so much to do in the Lake Naivasha area. We’ll take a guided walking safari to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This wildlife park has more animals than any other Kenyan park and we’ll stroll by as they peacefully graze.

At an advised time, we will set out for the most famous wildlife safari park in the world – Masai Mara National Reserve, considered the best Kenya safari tour.

We’ll be arriving in time for a game drive and get our first taste of the beauty and the active wildlife occupying this famous Kenya safari park.

All of Africa’s Big Five are here, and epic sightings of lion and cheetah are common, some of the main highlights of this African safari package.

Dinner and overnight at your Masai Mara tented safari camps/ safari lodge.

Day 5 of our African wildlife safari, and the fun has just begun. The Masai Mara is known for having the highest density of wildlife in the region.

So, we’ll be up early to track these wildlife over hills and savannahs, looking for the big predators but also some of the other 90 species of mammals filling this exciting ecosystem including the birdlife species.

The reserve is also home to the Kenya Wildebeest Migration (July – October), when hordes of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra by the tens of thousands cross over the Mara River into the park on their yearly quest for taller, fresher grasses on which to feed.

We’ll take a picnic lunch at the Mara River or at a spot in the middle of the park within sight of hippos and crocodiles, and if during the migration season, splendid views of the invading herds crossing into the park, in a sight unmatched anywhere.

Wrapping up your African safari package today is a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.

Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way. We’ll depart Masai Mara with a hot lunch stop along the way, arriving in Nairobi during late afternoon hours (approximately 15:00Hrs, typically 3:00 Pm) and bring you to your Nairobi hotel, or the Nairobi airport.
