Day 2 Masai Mara National Reserve - Full Day

Here in Kenya’s most popular park with its deep savannahs offset with iconic acacia trees, you’ll have a good chance to spot the African “Big Five” – lion, leopard elephant, rhino and buffalo because of the great density of animals in this reserve.

At the Mara River, we’ll see hippo and crocodile deep in their usual habitat as wildebeest, zebra and gazelle forge across in search of food. The park also supports masses of impala, eland, Masai Giraffe, cheetah and hyena. You won’t go a day here without enjoying the ever-present wildlife.

We offer several optional excursions to round out your African safari trip. An early morning hot air balloon safari ride over the awakening Mara with its views of the endless trains of wildlife is an unforgettable memory during your safari trip in Kenya. Just tell us early to make the arrangements for you.

Day 3 Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

Today after breakfast concludes our stay in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You can take this opportunity to visit the Masai village for some cultural discovery with these colorful tribe.

Make some special memories on your African safari tour. Here you can meet the villagers, learn about their lives and purchase some of their colorful crafts before making our way to Lake Nakuru National Park.

We’re next off to Lake Nakuru but on the way, we’ll make stops to eat at one of the Kenya safari hotels, stretch our legs and admire some of the more scenic spots we will come across.

During the afternoon hours we can arrange for an optional boat ride adventure at the nearby Lake Naivasha Park and explore this beautiful lake on an exciting boat safari to view hippos, exotic birds among other wildlife that we’ll come across.

We’ll spend the night here and then rise for an early morning game drive and bird watching.

Day 4 Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast at our Lake Nakuru safari lodge/ tented safari camp, we drive to the park for some exciting game drives. The park is also sanctuary to one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhino. So get your camera ready!

The few quantity of flamingos is accompanied by other birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks as well as herons and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy and full of color, a true Kenya photo safari experience.

But that’s only the beginning of what this special park has to offer because the wildlife viewing here is easy and accessible. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lakeshore and also watch the lions and leopards.

Due to some progressive natural factors like increasing water levels, the flamingo numbers have been reducing but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills and euphorbia trees dot the lake.

Lake Nakuru not a big park and within 4 hours you will have seen almost enough. It’s a quick drive next to Lake Naivasha and its surrounding parks and preserves, leave the park with lunch enroute.  Upon arrival at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge check in and, evening spend at Leisure or a visit to Naivasha floral farms.

Day 5 Lake Naivasha (Hells Gate) – Amboseli

Wake up to an appetizing breakfast followed by a checkout to Hell’s gate for a game drive. Here is the only place one can walk inside the park as there are no predators. You will decide if you’ll do the game drive with the safari vehicle or hire a bicycle to cycle the 11 kms down towards the gorge. At the gorge you will get a guide who will direct you and share information about the rock layers.

This is a place of dramatic cliffs, canyons and active steam vents rising from the earth below. But it’s also an easy-going opportunity to bicycle past impala, eland and even baboon.

At an advised time, drive/cycle back towards the gate as we exit the park. We start our long and easy drive to Amboseli National Park, arriving in the late evenings.

There will be plenty of stops along the way to Amboseli Park to eat, relax and appreciate vistas of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. As you approach the park, the great rise of Mt. Kilimanjaro overpowers the horizon. Africa’s tallest mountain is one of the ever-present features of this reserve – a picture postcard whenever you snap a picture.

Dinner and overnight at your Amboseli safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

Day 6 Full Day Exploring Amboseli

Welcome to Kenya’s photographic safari paradise after Masai Mara. Though not a large park, the density of wildlife here will make for an active and gratifying safari experience. Amboseli is known for its practically endless herds of elephants and you will see these wonderful titans marching to their watering holes.

We’ll be here at Amboseli Park with plenty of time for game drives and also relaxation, if you wish. Just let your guide know what you’re in the mood for.

It’s been a busy 6 days, and you’ve seen and absorbed so much during this discovery safari trip in Kenya. But there’s still more to experience on your way to Kenya’s sun-dappled coast.
