Description
Located in northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s iconic gems. This ancient extinct volcano, allegedly as high as Mount Kilimanjaro is in a setting that is distinctive with excellent year-round sightings and enviable landscapes, fantastic cats, as well as elephants and rhino population attracted by the continuous water supply in the area.
There is plenty of big cats that wander the Crater floor from prides of lion, the nocturnal leopard, cheetahs, and hyenas all hunting for wildebeest and other herbivores. In addition to wildebeest and zebra, the Crater is home to black rhino, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, eland, topi, spotted hyena, hartebeest, jackal, black-faced vervet, baboon and warthog with the lakes attracting hippopotamus, waterbuck and many other species. This is an exceptional area full of action.
