Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu

Our African tour package will kick off at 7:30 Am. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Wilson Airport.

The safari flight to Samburu National Reserve (Approximately 90 Minute Flight). On your touchdown at the airstrip near the park, your guide will meet you in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep for the quick trip to Samburu.

We’ll enjoy lunch at our Samburu accommodation and then set out on the first of many game drives over the next six days.

Samburu is a big arid park where the wildlife can be expected to visit the refreshing waters of the Ewaso Nyro River which bisects the reserve. And this makes for some great animal spotting.

Return for dinner and overnight our Samburu safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

Day 2 Full Day at Samburu

Today we’ll rise early to enjoy the magical morning sun bringing the park to life. We’re looking forward to a full day of game drives so talk with your driver/guide about how you’d like to plan your time. You can stay out in the field all day or come back to your Samburu accommodation for a little downtime to rest. The choice is yours.

Our day will be spent tracking elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and all the other big game that fill this big park. But Samburu is also known for its collection of rare and unusual species like the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, and Beisa oryx all of which we shall add onto our wildlife list in this African safari vacation.

We can also explore outside the park at the nearby Shaba and Buffalo Springs Reserves to take in their green fields for a different kind of game drive.

Return for dinner and overnight at our Samburu safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

Day 3 Samburu to Masai Mara

Samburu – Masai Mara safari flight (Approximately 1 ½ Hour).

Today we have one more game drive before breakfast to see which animals we can spot emerging into the day’s magical morning sunrise.

After breakfast at our Samburu accommodation, we’ll head back to the airstrip for our 10:30 am flight to the Masai Mara. Touching down, our new driver/guide will greet us at the airstrip followed by a quick ride to the park and we’ll get settled and enjoy lunch at our new Masai Mara accommodation.

Over the next four days of this exciting African safari tour, we’ll explore the park and you can discuss with your guide how you would like to plan your wildlife safari here. But now we’re off for our first game drive.

Return for dinner and overnight at our Masai Mara tented safari camp/ safari lodge.

Day 4 Masai Mara

On this very day we’ll rise up early enough to take advantage of the first morning light and soak up the peaceful feeling over these rolling savannahs.

As we go on our game drives for these next several days you’ll get a feeling for the park and the areas you’d like to explore or revisit. Just discuss with your guide as he knows the spots to find the wildlife.

But we’ll be on the lookout for large and also small predators like jackals, hyenas, fox, and mongoose.

The presence of the many grazers here can be overwhelming as we explore for gazelle, antelope, topi, and dik-dik. And the park also boasts hundreds of bird species, accenting the plains with their startling colors.

Toward evening, we’ll time and watch the Mara’s glowing sunsets painting the sky. Return for dinner and overnight at our Masai Mara safari lodge/ tented safari camp.

Day 5 Full-Day Exploring The Masai Mara

Our day 5 of this safari trip in Kenya will be spent at one of the most exciting areas of the Masai Mara to explore; the famous Mara River where the site of the Kenya Wildebeest Migration usually takes place from the month of July through October.

The sight here can be overwhelming during the Masai Mara migration season as the herds of grazers push forward through the river, infested with awaiting crocodiles also drawn to this spot by natural instinct. This veritable flood of wildlife overtakes the park in great trains of animals pushing out to the horizons. It’s known as the largest movement of wildlife on the planet.

It’s a stunning spectacle to be watched at an close-up angle.

We also offer optional safari activities that can spice up your package trip to Africa, perhaps more so from the perch of a hot air balloon. Take advantage of our optional early morning balloon safari ride, rising with the sun to witness the park and its uncountable inhabitants below playing out the cycles of nature.

For a different kind of safari moment, enjoy an optional visit to a local village. There you’ll meet the Maasai people living as they have for centuries in their pastoral lifestyle. Learn about their lives, culture, and dramatic ceremonies, make your Kenya safari tour complete with this special occasion.

Day 6 Masai Mara – Nairobi (1 Hour Return Flight).

Wrapping up your African safari package today is a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.

We’ll head out to the airstrip to board our plane after goodbyes with our driver/guide. Taking off at 11:15 am we’ll view Kenya from the air with a touch down at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport at 12:15 pm.

On arrival one of our drivers will welcome you and bring you back to your Nairobi hotel or the international airport for your flight home signaling the end of this epic Kenya safari tour.

African flying safaris are the easiest and fastest way to spend more time in the parks and less time getting to the parks, giving you a great opportunity to explore the Kenya wildlife parks.
