Masai Mara Midrange Safari

0730 am, get picked up from Nairobi city center and depart Nairobi in the morning for a journey south through the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the land will get increasingly dramatic as we enter the escarpment. We’ll make stops along the way to refresh and view the impressive features of the Rift Valley.

Then we’ll head down to the valley floor, exploring the scenic features through Masai country, perhaps getting glimpses of the colorful herdsman along the way as we approach the reserve.

We should arrive at the Masai Mara at about lunchtime, which we’ll enjoy at our chosen midrange Masai Mara safari lodge.

Afterward, we’ll ready ourselves for afternoon game drives, your first game drive will be an introduction to the numbers and variety of wildlife you’ll experience during your three days in the park. We’ll be returning to the camp late evening by 6.00 pm where dinner and overnight await.

With a full day ahead of us, we will start off early to view the park’s abundant wildlife, you can either choose to start off with your breakfast or enjoy a packed breakfast while out on the safari thereby maximizing our time out in the field. This will be a day of unlimited game drives.

Drama unfolds here on a daily basis, be it a trap coordinated by a pride of lions, the panic of 1000 wildebeest crossing a river during the Kenya Great Migration season in July- October which is known to be the best time for a Kenya safari or watch the playful cheetah kittens/ cubs; otherwise the Mara is good at any time of the month.

A visit to the Mara River is a must, where hippos can be found walking around or resting, with the largest and most permanent concentrations occurring in this Masai Mara River. The river is also home to huge Nile crocodiles and is the scene where wildebeest make their fateful crossings during the migration.

Another optional event is an early morning hot air balloon safari ride over the reserve. There’s no better way to start your day than flying majestically over the Mara plains – just call our office to set up the balloon flight tour.

Our time in the Masai Mara game reserve is cut short today as we wrap-up this African dream safari with a leisurely morning breakfast at your midrange lodge/camp, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.

Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way. We’ll depart Masai Mara with a hot lunch stop along the way, arriving in Nairobi during late afternoon hours (approximately 15:00Hrs, typically 3:00 Pm) and bring you to your Nairobi hotel, or the Nairobi airport.
