Luxury Masai Mara Safari

07:30 hrs. We will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel, or the Nairobi airport and depart Nairobi in the morning for a journey south through the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the land will get increasingly dramatic as we enter the escarpment. We’ll make stops along the way to refresh and view the impressive features of the Rift Valley.

Then we’ll head down to the valley floor, exploring the scenic features through Masai country, perhaps getting glimpses of the colorful Masai herdsman along the way as we approach the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

We should arrive at the Masai Mara at about lunchtime, which we’ll enjoy at our chosen Masai Mara accommodation.

Afterward, we’ll ready ourselves for afternoon game drives, your first game drive will be an introduction to the numbers and variety of wildlife you’ll experience during your three days in the park. We’ll be returning to your luxury African lodge late evening by 6.00 pm where dinner and overnight await.

With a full day ahead of us, we will start off early to view the park’s abundant wildlife, said to the densest of any park in the region. This will be a day of unlimited game drives over the golden fields and past the distinctive acacia trees adorning these plains.

Stay on the lookout for Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The birdlife is also abundant, and should you be here during the season of the Great Migration (July – October), prepare yourself to witness the largest movement of animals on the planet.

The Kenya wildebeest migration season is made up of wildebeests and zebra, the migrating animals cross into the park by the thousands at the Mara River, also the site of hippos and waiting crocodiles. The potential drama here is obvious as the streaming herds enter these lands for fresh grasses as the predators lie in wait.

Dinner and overnight at your luxury tented camp/lodge.

Adding more richness to your Masai Mara experience, you can enjoy an optional visit to one of the local villages. There, you’ll meet the Maasai and see their lifestyle up close; or you can rather stay at your camp and enjoy the luxury lodge safari amenities.

Another optional event is an early morning hot air balloon safari ride over the reserve. This is a great way of seeing the Mara and its wildlife, an almost ghostly experience of floating silently above the savannah plains with a 360 – degree view of the park – let us know if you want us to set up either or both activities.

Wrapping up your African safari package today is a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.

Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way. We’ll depart Masai Mara with a hot lunch stop along the way, arriving in Nairobi during late afternoon hours (approximately 15:00Hrs, typically 3:00 Pm) and bring you to your Nairobi hotel, or the Nairobi airport signaling the end of our luxury safari in Africa.
