Laikipia, Masai Mara & Zanzibar Safari

Touching down in Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you’ll be met by your driver who will take you straight to your Nairobi hotel, so you can catch up on some sleep before your African adventure in Kenya begins in the morning.

Today after enjoying a hearty breakfast, you’ll be eager to go this morning as your driver whisks you to Nairobi Wilson Airport to board your light aircraft flight to Nanyuki, the gateway to Laikipia. You’ll be picked up by our driver and driven to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, an area teeming with wildlife in the foothills of Mount Kenya and home to the last two northern white rhinos remaining on the planet. You’ll arrive at your camp/lodge, your home for the next three nights. Nestled in indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole, this award winning eco-tented camp has a luxurious simplicity about it.

Spend your days immersed in the wild. Hop into your open game vehicle and keep your eyes peeled, as your expert guide tracks animals such as lions and hyenas. Lean into limitless, as you cycle through the wild, passing towering giraffes and dazzling zebras in the late afternoon sun, with some Facebook worthy photos to be taken along the way. Feel your senses awaken as you embark on the ultimate nature walk, led by an expert walking ranger guide who will point out the spoor of a leopard and the tracks of rhinos. You’ll also visit the Morani Centre, a heart-warming experience as you learn how the rangers and scientists protect the conservancy and safeguard the precious wildlife.

On this day, awake to the dawn chorus of bird calls and watch the sunlight rays through the canvas window of your tent, illuminating your bed. A tasty breakfast will be waiting for you, before you head out on your final morning game drive in Laikipia. You will then be transferred back to Nanyuki, to catch your light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara.

As you fly over the Mara, vast plains and rolling hills will unravel before your eyes. You’ll land in the wilderness with zebras and wildebeest peering over at you. Your safari starts now as you are game driven to your Masai Mara safari lodge/camp in a beautiful valley within the Mara North Conservancy. This classic tented camp exudes elegance and its location in a prime wildlife area means that you will see animals roaming through the camp, from the comfort of your camp.

The following three days will be filled with memories to cherish for a lifetime. Discover a Maasai community and be enthralled by the way they live in harmony with the nature. Feel your excitement building as you approach a herd of majestic elephants, gently ambling by in the savannah. If you’re lucky, feel the thrill of being in a leopard’s presence, as she gazes out at you from the high branch of an acacia tree.

A dreamlike beach paradise awaits you. This morning, after one last venture soaking up the Masai Mara National Reserve, you’ll catch a flight back to Nairobi Wilson Airport and then connect on to a safari flight to Zanzibar. You will arrive at your tropical island home. Step out onto the white-soft sand of Zanzibar’s beach and sink into pure tranquility.

Let your senses guide you through the spice garden and tantalise your taste buds with a sizzling cookery class. Close your eyes and empty your mind as you balance on the peaceful yoga deck, overlooking the dazzling ocean. Float out to sea on a traditional wooden dhow boat and plunge into the ocean for a revitalising swim and snorkel, before basking your way back to shore where a delectable seafood lunch will be waiting for you. Evenings will be spent lounging on the stylish beach cushions, sipping on cocktails to the sounds of chilled, live music and gazing out at the horizon as the sky turns a brilliant fuchsia pink.

Today being the end of your Kenya Tanzania safari package here at Zanzibar Beach, at an advised time, you will check out at your hotel/lodge and make your own way to Nairobi/ Arusha, according to your plans, signaling the end of this fantastic African safari tour.
