Day 8 Masai Mara Game Reserve – Full Day

We’ve planned this 10-day safari to give you lots of time explore the rolling hills and acacia tree- dotted plains of the Masai Mara.

One of the most unique properties of the Mara is that this ecosystem has the highest concentration of wildlife in this region of Africa. Besides the Big Five, we’ll be looking for gazelle, topi, eland, plus great quantities of birdlife – kingfisher, stork, guinea fowl and plenty of raptors.

You may also see stunning hordes of wildebeests and zebra throughout the park during the Masai Mara Great Migration (July – October). This is the time when uncountable numbers of these grazers invade the park, crossing the Mara River, searching for sustenance.

We’ll take a picnic lunch near the river looking for hippos and crocodiles. And if it is the migration season, look for the vast influx of wildlife streaming into the Mara.

This will be our second night spent here at your Masai Mara accommodation.

Day 9 Masai Mara Game Reserve – Full Day

It is our second full day at the Masai Mara. If you have any special requests or spots you like to visit or re-visit, just ask your driver/guide. He’ll be happy to help.

Two fun activities your guide will let you know about are an optional visit to the local Masai village to meet the tribespeople and learn about their lives and culture. You might even participate in one of their dances!

The other optional event is a pre-dawn hot air balloon safari over the park. Imagine, sailing over the Masai Mara as the sun begins to light up the hills, valleys, and rivers of the reserve. You’ll have a perfect view of the wildlife as it roams over the vast plains. A not-to-be-missed experience, your guide can make all the arrangements.

Day 10 Masai Mara – Nairobi

Wrapping up your African safari package today is a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.

Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way. We’ll depart Masai Mara with a hot lunch stop along the way, arriving in Nairobi during late afternoon hours (approximately 15:00Hrs, typically 3:00 Pm) and bring you to your Nairobi hotel, or the Nairobi airport.

Drop off at your Nairobi City hotel /Nairobi airport.

We hope you soaked up plenty of Africa’s wildlife sightings on this busy tour. It’s been our pleasure to have you as our guest and from all of us at African Vulture Safaris, a big thanks!
