Day 1 Adventure Begins; Nairobi - Masai Mara

7:30 am. – We’ll pick you up at your hotel or the Nairobi airport for the short transfer to Wilson Airport where you’ll board your plane for the approximately one-hour flight to the Masai Mara game reserve. Enjoy views from above as you make your way to the iconic Mara.

Upon mid-morning touchdown at the Mara airstrip, you’ll be met by your driver guide for the next three days. Your African Vulture Safaris guide will take you for the first short ride en-route to your Masai Mara accommodation, your home for the two nights.

Settle in at your Masai Mara safari lodge or tented safari camp and get ready for lunch. After this, we can discuss areas of the park and how you might like to explore as we prepare for your first afternoon wildlife safari in Kenya; we’ll head out for game drives deep into the reserve in search of Africa’s big five wildlife.

Depending on how you’ll like to spend your days, you can enjoy all the game drives or, you can take rest breaks back at your accommodation. Just discuss with your guide how you’d like to plan your safari.

We will return to the camp late evening by 6.00 pm where dinner and overnight await.

Note: For those guests staying at conservancies who wish to travel to the Mara triangle area to view the Kenya Great Migration river crossings, there is a $100 per person surcharge.

Should you be lucky enough to visit the Masai Mara game reserve during the season of the Great Migration (July – October) you will witness one of the natural wonders of the planet – an unending train of wildebeests and zebras crossing into the park over the Mara River on their annual trek.

Watch closely for the many predators – lions, leopards, cheetahs, and crocodiles hidden beneath the river’s surface as they await for the migrating wildebeests.

After a busy day exploring the majestic Mara, you’ll head back to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.
